Organic/Bio Eric Bouletin is an “under the radar” winegrower of the Southern Rhone, crafting wines that are full of big, fleshy, fruit while remaining poised and fresh enough to be highly drinkable. Like here. It’s a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 20% Mourvedre from sits across the AOC, all older vines and all cropped low and fully destemmed before fermentation and aging in concrete. There’s excellent intensity and depth here, with bold black fruit balanced by pops of chalky minerality and vibrant acids that lock in freshness. My first note taken in France sums it up: “Makes you hungry. Long finish. Exciting wine.”
