One of Doug's favorite Patricia Green Pinots from a unique, steeply sloped, west-facing site that gives Pommard on volcanic soil at the top, Dijon 115 on marine sediments lower and a tiny bit of Mariafeld Clone from the transition zone. Always bright and fresh even though full of dark fruit and very aromatic.
As Audrey Frick says in JD.com, it's "lifted with fresh herbs and spice, as well as notes of cinnamon, preserved cranberries, rushed stones, and a hint of orange peel. Medium-bodied and linear, with fine tannins and a focused feel, it slowly tapers away with real finesse and an elegant feel. There is more spice than usual on the finish, but I really like this. It should gain depth as it ages. Drink 2025-2040."
For You If: You like a definite pop of mouthwatering minerality with your dark, ripe, Willamette Valley Pinot Noir; you enjoy Pinot with both delicious immediacy and plenty of cellar potential.
Not For You If: You're after fleshy or smooth - this is focused and intense with a fine, firm, grip at the end.
