One of Sherry's top producers turns out a very impressive Rioja from 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano, all from 60+ year-old vines with 28 months in American oak. It's dark and rich with lots of coffee/mocha and spice through the middle and then plenty of food-friendly freshness and tannin on the back.

"Smoky, toasty oak takes center stage on the nose of this fine Rioja. It's full and fruity on the palate yet has enough levity to allow the flavors to breathe. Strong barrel notes frame its salt, dried red fruit and cocoa flavors. Complex, ageworthy and high in quality, it will be best from 2020–2030."
