The winery sells this nicely aged Pinot for $60, making this an exceptional value in very classy, nicely earthy/savory, Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. You’ll find plenty of ripe, fresh, crunchy red fruit here along with subtle notes of shitake mushroom and forest floor that grow on the silky finish. The folks at JamesSuckling.com described it well in their 91 point review on release, “Aromas of tart red berries, rooibos tea and dried herbs. Medium-bodied with fine, slightly tight tannins. Juicy red fruit with a herbal undertone.”
For You If: You prefer a little bit of maturity on your Pinot and like the savory/earthy notes to be complemented by juicy red berry fruit; you’re looking for Pinot to pair with duck or lamb – this will shine at table!
Not For You If: You like your Pinot to be fleshy and full of rich fruit – this is a bit more lean/elegant than that and shows tart fruit and earthy undertones.
