Italy's Piemonte region, most famous for Barolo and Barbaresco, can also be a lovely place to grow Pinot Noir, especially on sites with a touch of limestone and just a bit too cool for Nebbiolo. This is a lovely example from Barolo house Neirano that showcases ripe and juicy Pinot fruit with no oak at all. Aromas of macerated cherries, rose petal and warm spice pull you into flavors of ripe black and red cherry with a subtle accent of savory black tea. Soft enough for cocktail sipping, there's more than enough here to work at table with any Pinot-friendly dish. And a brilliant value price, too!
"This is really floral and delicious with attractive strawberry and stone character as well as stems. Fine tannins and a bright finish."
