Lower ABV A very old grape native to Crete and saved from extinction by the Lyrarakis family. The grape wants to be soft, but here it's grown at ultra-low yields at 1,300 feet elevation that pumps up both the minerality and acidity. There's a sleekness to the feel of the lime, green apple and tangy peach flavors at the wine's core and lovely salty grip on the supple finish. The density and mouthfeel are especially impressive for a wine that doesn't crack 12% alcohol. It's delicious and if it doesn't exactly shout for attention at first, you'll find it wonderful company during the course of a sunny afternoon or fresh seafood feast.
