This small producer based just outside Chassagne-Montrachet has delivered a pretty glorious Chardonnay in 2020. From 50+ year-old vines and fermented in tank and barrel then aged 12 months in 20% new French oak, it shows both the richness in texture and fruit of the vintage and the energy and chalky minerality that makes white Burgundy so special. Creamy orchard fruits (pear and apple) with very attractive touch of toasted hazelnut and tangy butter build nicely through a creamy, fresh, finish. Pretty irresistible!
