Lower ABV Named after a castle in the Languedoc region, Château d'Oupia has quite the unique story. André Iché inherited an 13th century castle and a large estate and began to grown grapes and sold all of his grapes to local negociants instead of being a member of the local village coop. One day a Burgundian winemaker was passing through and convinced Andre to let him bottle and market his wine. And wow, we are so glad he did. While Andre passed away in 2007 his daughter Marie-Pierre now runs the estate.
"Les Heretiques" is named after a heretical Christian group that got wiped out in 1208 by Pope Innocent III for murdering a local papal representative. 80% Carignan and 20% Grenache. With notes of blueberry, blackberrry, and a touch of minerality on the finish, this is an excellent wine for this value.
