The 2018 Octagon was a triumph for the difficult vintage. The 2019 is just a triumph, period, one of the finest examples of this benchmark Virginia Bordeaux blend made to date.

"A perfumed nose of spiced cherry, sliced plum, cardamom, clove and suede. Medium-to full-bodied with silky tannins. Concentrated but not overdone, with a array of nicely ripened red fruit and berries washing very the palate. Subtle length here with the fruit lingering on the palate for a long time. Lovely spicy complexity. Drink or hold."
