Vallena - Valpolicella Superiore Il Costolo 2020 (750ml)

Just plain fun to drink, this is ripe and gutsy Valpolicella that you’ll enjoy pouring to match burgers, meatloaf, rich ragus and earthy mushroom pizza pie. Picked late enough to be fully ripe (but still fresh) and aged 12 months in large Slavonian oak casks to avoid hiding the fruit. Bursting with dark black cherry and plum fruit, the light accents of smoke and cured tobacco provide nicely savory contrasts. Finishes firm, but supple, with fine acids lifting the dark black fruit through a mouthwatering finish.
