Quite possibly the very best selling wine from all of Portugal, this delivers almost as much oompf as it does value. It's a blend of Alfrocheiro, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional, the first a darkly colored native grape, the second Portugal's name for Tempranillo. Dark in color and bold in aroma and flavor, featuring juicy blackberry, ripe strawberry and a dollop of black plum fruit with a touch of wildflower in the background and earthy, meaty, notes coming up with air. The tannins are firm, but very fine, giving this the ability to match up with grilled meats as well as satisfy a crowd at a casual party. Good wine and excellent value.
