Organic/Bio"If you could bottle all the romance of summer in the south of France - the dazzling sunlight of a Cezanne painting and warm sea breeze blowing through hillsides of lavender and thyme - you'd wind up with something a bit like Pierre Vidal's beautiful expression of the Costieres de Nimes appelation." So writes importer Mary Taylor, and we're not likely to do better. This is 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre and 20% Syrah made in tank and used cask. It's big, deep and juicy with bold black and dark red fruit and notes of rich earth and charred meat. The oak adds just a touch more richness to the firm, muscular, finish. Anything "Provencal" would be a thrill here, especially lamb.
