We did NOT intend to buy a Long Island desert wine, but once tasted, there's no resisting this stunning late harvest Sauvignon Blanc marked by a touch of botrytis and made in new French oak. A big range of tropical notes - litchi, quince, pineapple, mango and guava - are accented by hints of dried honey, spice and toast and lifted by super bright Sauvignon citric acidity. You can spend a lot of time with each sip here whether paired up with bruleed peaches, toasted nuts or sharp cheeses like Roquefort, Stilton or even a good and well-aged cheddar. It's a bit addictive, so best have a few friends on hand when you open the bottle.
