Lower ABV Bardolino is kind of Valpolicella's zestier, less serious, cousin who grew up on the shores of Lake Guarda instead of the Veneto. The grapes are the same as Valpoicella - Corvina and Rondinella - and the harvest just as late, but the cool mountain breezes here keep the wine lighter in color and lower in alcohol (just 12.5%). Loaded with ripe, tangy, cherry and blueberry fruit with light herb accents and a juicy, fresh, lightly sappy finish. Takes a chill beautifully, pairs with anything salty, and fun to just glug.
