Lower ABV Doug Margerum's M5 white - built on Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier and Picpoul - is kind of Rhone Ranger Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc. But more drinkable at just 12.8%. As Vinous says in the 93 point write-up, it's a "gorgeous, highly expressive white. This blend works so well, as the varieties are wonderfully complementary. Lemon peel, white flowers, mint, chamomile and light pastry notes build effortlessly."
For You If: You love the flavors, richness and complexity of very high-end Rhone whites at less than half the price you'd pay for them if they were actually from the Rhone; you're looking for a match for seafood with fruit salsa or creamy, rich, sauces.
Not For You If: You don't like stone fruit or white florals - this is loaded with those aromas and flavors!
