Organic/Bio Yes, La Staffa is best known for their widly delicious and complex Verdicchio whites. But Riccardo makes one red from the Marche's classic Montepulciano, and it's terrific. From the Vinous 93 point review, "The 2019 Rosso Rubinia entices with a bouquet that mixes cedar shavings with dried strawberries and savory spice. It’s silky and refined, with a core of ripe cherry-berry fruits and rosy inner florals that swirl throughout. The Rubinia finishes long and lightly structured. A youthful tension is nicely balanced by residual acids that keep the mouth watering. This lovely Marche Montepulciano shows a lift and finesse that’s not often seen."
For You If: You're looking for a terrific blend of fruit and savory elements in a wine with plenty of minerality and cut to enjoy with mushrooms, creamy pasta dishes, or even just a great pizza.
Not For You If: You're after something really earthy/funky or with loads of grip - this is super-clean and finishes with just a lightly tannic grip.
