Organic/Bio La Despensa is dedicated to exploring the potential of Chile’s Colchagua Valley from very old vines to new plantings – like this plot of Cinsault put in the ground in 2017 and still the only Cinsault in the Valley. In the Rhone, Cinsault gives punchy, fresh fruit, flavors and lift to heartier Grenache and Syrah, and on its own here it matches that freshness with a deep core of dark, rich, fruit and a hint of sweet spice. The fruit pops up nicely on the finely polished finish, making this as much fun solo as it is with something off the grill.
