Organic/Bio Lower ABV Jeremie Huchet has emerged as one of Muscadet's young stars, and this single-vineyard, organically farmed, Melon de Bourgogne shows why. As Wine Advocate says in the 91 point review, "aromas of crushed stones, quartz, spring flowers, lemon and pear, it has a refined structure and a laser-like texture, making it perfectly tense and taut. It’s a crystalline and racy Muscadet with impressive minerality."
It will keep getting better over the next 5-8 years, but already as delicious with grilled sausages, cheeses, and roast chicken as it is with oysters or clams. It's one of three single-vineyard wines Jeremie invited his three children to draw labels for. His youngest was just 5 years-old when he created this image of the manor house and surrounding vines.
For You If: You enjoy the crisp, stony, salty character of wines like Muscadet and want a touch more old vine grip and depth.
Not For You If: You're looking for something as fruity as, say, Sauvignon Blanc or richly textured like a barrel-aged Chardonnay - this is generous, but stony and very pure.
