A super-rare bottling of 100% Garnacha Peluda - aka "Hairy Grenache."  Peluda is a clone of Garnacha evolved to handle especially windy, dry, locations. The tiny hairs on each leaf allow the vine to take moisture from the air and then retract to keep water inside the plant when the wind comes up and air dries out. It gives a wine lighter in color and lower in alcohol than Garnacha Tinto and shows pretty strawberry fruit and just a hint of green tobacco and spice. Or at least it does here in the beautiful bottle from Priorat's Silvia Puig.
