Lower ABV Austria's signature white grape Gruner Veltliner doesn't travel well - outside of a few examples from Alto Adige (part of Austria until WWI!), it tends to give wine that's either too lean or too fat. Turns out the Willamette Valley's Ribbon Ridge can be a great place to grow it, too! Similar to a Kamptal DAC wine, this is crisp and very minerally with round stone fruit and citrus emerging with air, a burst of fresh white pepper, and crisp, dry, finish. Yum!
