Organic/Bio Lower ABV Not only a delicious and classic “Chablis,” this is a wonderfully versatile all-steel Chardonnay that will make a very impressive and classy house white. Even more than the barrels and tanks I tasted with co-owner Richard Rottiers back in March, the 2022 Village Chablis shows off the terrific potential of the upcoming vintage. As Decanter said in their 91 point review of the 2021 edition, it’s “a very crisp, precise and focused Chablis. There is no doubting where this wine comes from.”
Aromas of seashell, green apple and lime zest pull you into a palate that’s deceptively gentle and open before snapping into focus with a salty, stony, citrus and Granny Smith apple finish. Certainly a great seafood and shellfish match, but also lovely with all kinds of soft cheeses and roasted birds. As Burghound said in awarding the 2021 a ”Sweetspot Outstanding” accolade, “This is a quality effort for the genre and worth checking out.”
