"A more aromatically restrained and decidedly cooler mix features aromas of green apple, white flower, oyster shell, quinine and slightly more evident wood influence. The exceptionally rich, even opulent, big-bodied flavors also coat the palate with sappy dry extract that buffers the citrus-tinged acidity shaping the long and powerful finale. Note that this is sufficiently compact to need at least a few years of keeping. Excellent."

"The 2021 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru, which sees seven months in oak and another seven months in stainless steel, has a pretty, peppermint-tinged bouquet that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a fine thread of acidity, taut and linear, quite precise on the finish with a hint of chamomile lingering on the aftertaste. This is a commendable showing, and it should drink well over the next decade."
