I guess there could be a better introduction to Northern Rhone Syrah – or a better value! – but I’m struggling to imagine it. It’s from 20-30 year-old Syrah vines on a range of Crozes Hermitage soils including plenty of fractured/decomposed rock.  Full de-stemmed fruit gets a 6 day cold-soak then a warm 15 day fermentation to pull out plenty of flavor (and color) without any hard-edged tannins. A few months in tank to come together and, BOOM, ready to go.

Northern Rhone Syrah is all about non-fruit flavors like smoked and roasted meat, sweet and savory spice, and even grilled herbs. All of that his here to go with juicy-ripe blackberry fruit that swells up nice and round mid-palate before sweet tannins pull the flavors through a long, fruit and savory, finish. Built to pair up with a BBQ right now.
