Organic/Bio Kermit Lynch helped Bandol become famous when he introduced Tempier to the US market, but his other Bandol partners make wines just as delicious and even better priced. Very much a "baby Bandol," this is 80% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache, 10% Cinsault all from the estate's prime Bandol vineyards, but from vines too young to be used in the Bandol. Fermented in tank and then aged in large oak cask, it serves up a generous dose of Bandol's black fruit and nice touches of leather, spice and tobacco. The fruit's the main thing, though, in this friendly, ready now, cookout value.
