From the cooler Oak Knoll AVA in Napa (just above Carneros), this is nicely rich and very satisfying. All estate fruit, all barrel fermented and aged with a just right 30% new French oak for richness and spice. We love the rich, almost velvety, texture here and the balance of fresh butter, hazelnut, ripe pear, Golden Delicious apple and toasty oak aromas and flavors. The creamy mouthfeel makes this great for solo sipping, but there's enough structure to pair nicely with roast chicken or a fine piece of fish.
