Dave Phinney and his long-time winemaking partner Kevin Fox created to showcase some of Napa’s oldest vines and heritage vineyards in an deeply rich and fruit-filled style. And, in 2019, with the perfect complement of focus and palate cleansing acidity to make this as delicious with food as it is solo. In 2019, the wine is 45% Zinfandel, 17% Petite Sirah, 14% Charbono, 10% Merlot, 6% Syrah, 6% Grenache and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon sites on the Valley floor and up into the mountains. Explosively perfumed and flavored, this pumps out huge amounts of dark berry fruit with accents of star anise, wild herb, bitter chocolate and more. At once hedonistic and refreshing, the wine finishes very long and smooth. Impressive.
