Lower ABV Back in 1976, when Verdjo was nearly extinct in Rueda, Angel Rodriguez took cuttings from this dying 17th century vineyard and propagated them to keep the varietal alive. This is from those cuttings and if you want to know why Rueda is Spain’s most popular white today, just take a sip. Or a sniff, because the aromas are super enticing: wet stones, green and orange citrus, maybe something floral. Concentrated and highly mineral on the palate, with the flavors coming in waves that crest on the back and drive the long, mineral-and-fruit, dry, finish. Remarkable wine across every dimension.
