Organic/Bio There are no other Willamette Valley Pinots like Stephen Hagen's Antiquum Farm wines, and no other Antiquum Farm wine like this. Here he's seeking to capture the essence of his unique vines and the remarkable richness and complexity produced by his intensive grazing-based farming approach. It's a powerful Pinot and noticeably more savory than Stephen's other wines and has a finish that just won't quit. Very limited and very, very, good.
"This bottling is a blend of 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021. The project didn't start until 2017 and they skipped 2020 due to smoke. Pale ruby in colour. Quite a savoury nose. A meaty quality with red and black plum. Spirituous with a heady aroma of spruce tips. Dusty dried earthiness on the palate with an incredible depth of character. Layered with amaro, menthol, lavender, thyme, dark cherry, and a slight shoe-polish and leather lift. Sharp spruce. Bark and bright-red pomegranate kernels. A wine to sit with. It unrolls with a charred savouriness and a bite of quinine."
