Organic/Bio Anne Pichon crafts this lovely, gutsy, 100% Grenache from certified organic vines growing at the base of Mt Ventoux, right next door to the region’s flagship winery, Pesquie. The fruit is picked at night to preserve freshness and acidity and then a three week, native yeast, fermentation proceeds slowly to extract color, flavor, and structure. There’s plenty of flesh here, but the wine feels lightly on its feet as the dark red berry fruit and wild garrigue flavors flow over a firm, satisfyingly grippy, finish. Long and delicious.
