Organic/Bio Our all-time best-selling rosé is the best we’ve tasted in years, maybe ever. In 2023, owner Gilles Pons tweaked his certified organic farming of 40 year-old Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvedre to let him harvest perfectly ripe and seriously flavorful fruit two weeks earlier. The earlier pick delivers all the generous aromas and flavors you hope for in Provençal rosé and delivers more vibrancy and transparency of color, aroma and – especially – mouthwatering, vivid, flavor. It’s pretty nutso good.
Even more than usual, the starbright, pale, coppery salmon pink appearance in the glass is a showstopper. It’s so shimmeringly pale that it’s hard to believe there could be any weight or flavor at all. But the aromas and flavors of juicy redcurrant, cherry, strawberry, Saville orange and fresh herb are clear and definite and delicious. And the juicy citric acidity lifts the flavors of watermelon and tart strawberry through a long, delightfully mouthwatering, finish that just won’t quit. Enjoy this all spring and summer, but be sure to get enough to drink with Thanksgiving turkey and enjoy all winter long while you can stock up at the best bottle and case price we can find in the USA!
For You If: You love dry, classically-styled and made, Provençal rosé – you won’t find a better one this year; you’d rather drink elegant and delicious French rosé made by real people who live where they grow their grapes and make their wine than pinks created and managed by branding experts and movie stars.
Not For You: I guess if you don’t like dry Provençal rosé? Or if non-standard bottles are a deal-killer for you – this one’s pretty but won’t fit in all wine racks.
