Fruit from Oak Knoll, Yountville, Rutherford and Calistoga picked on the early side in 2020 (13.3% alcohol) but still plenty ripe, rich and spiced from 14 months in 35% new French oak. Fresh blueberry, tangy blackberry, a touch of mocha and plenty of spice show on the nose and palate. Definitely feels bold and rich like Napa Cab should, but finishes with a nice burst of freshness and food-friendly structure.
