Steininger is Kamptal’s top producer of sparkling wines and one of the very best in all of Austria. The family specializes in single varietal, single vintage, fizz that showcases the character of the grape and growing season. This is a beauty, at once creamy and full of classic Grüner fruit and terrifically dry and vibrant. The in-bottle secondary fermentation delivers plenty of fizz, but this still reads “Grüner” with bright apple, green pea, and white pepper notes. Easy to sip on its own and fun to pair with savory sausage or freshwater fish.
