Organic/Bio One of the finest Barbera's made in Barbaresco, this comes from two different vineyards in Neive: Basarin and San Cristoforo. The south and west expositions allow for excellent ripeness and intensity of flavor, but with no loss of energetic and refreshing acids and drive. Aged 15 months in barrique (15% new, the rest 2-5 years old), the oak gives a touch of structure and spice without marking the wine with any wood flavors at all. Serious Barbera that will stand up to a steak or intensely meaty pasta sauce (but is fun to slurp with pizza, too!).
"The 2021 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Pairolero is a heady, explosive wine. Black cherry, new leather, licorice, cloves and gravel infuse the Barbera with so much flavor intensity. Bright acids lend quite a bit of energy throughout. The 2021 is incredibly promising. It was aged in a combination of tank and cask."
