Organic/Bio Lower ABV While better known for their Chassagne holdings, Lamy-Pillot has a fine portfolio of vines just around the corner in St. Aubin as well. And while the winegrowing and making are just as careful and meticulous here, the prices are refreshingly more modest. En Criot is especially good, taking advantage of its south exposure to develop excellent ripeness balancing the minerality of its limestone-heavy soils. As Morris's review below notes, this had more flesh before bottling and has recovered that weight since he tried it in October 2021. Delicious right now and for the next decade or so.
"Pale colour, the lightest green tint. A fine clear fresh white fruit with some intensity. Very stony, almost a little coarse but that might be the bottling, a few licks of lemon on what could otherwise by oyster shells. Fairly persistent. Would have had more flesh immediately before the bottling." Jasper Morris 89 points
