Organic/Bio Well, now. This is a whole lot of wine for the money. It's about 45% each Grenache and Syrah plus 10% Carignan, all grown on slopes along the Agly Valley. The gneiss and schist soils are very free draining, forcing the vines to really drive their roots down and pick up plenty of Rousillon's classic minerality to go with the dark fruit and lavender notes. As always, this shows plenty of brambly, meaty, fruit already and will pick up volume and heft over the next few years. Drink it now and enjoy the freshness and check it out in a few months as the power builds.

"A perennial over-achiever, the 2019 Cotes Du Roussillon Villages sports a translucent ruby hue to go with an incredibly sexy, pure, elegant character as well as lots of black raspberry fruits, notes of peppery herbs, flowers, and orange blossom-like aromas and flavors. It's rich yet at the same time light on its feet and beautifully balanced. It's going to be a terrific value."
