Lower ABV Hungary’s Furmint grape is most famous for the sweet/tangy/salty wines of Tokaji. Usually when it’s made as a dry white, it impresses for its energy and salty minerality, but with modest alcohol and not much fruit flavor it can be…well, a bit much. Which makes this gem of a mouthwatering white such a treat. Bold ripe apricot, lemon, and juicy tangerine fruit perfectly balances the intense acidity and salty mineral character. The touch of orange blossom on the long, dry, finish, is pure delight. This will be lovely with all kinds of seafood and salads, especially any dish finished with a splash of citrus. Remarkably good and a terrific value.
