Gewurztraminer is a tricky grape. Pick it too soon and you won't get the lovely rose petal and lychee flavors we love. Pick it too late and it can get oily, even sweet. In Elkton, Oregon, Brandborg nailed it, bringing in fruit that gives wonderufl perfume and texture but also nicely balancing acidity and a sleek, fresh, texture. The white tea and jasmine on the nose and peachy, dry, finish are especially yummy. Highly drinkable with all kinds of Asian and savory dishes.
