Join us this Saturday – we mean Valentines day! – to taste wines you’re guaranteed to love. A bit of Champagne to start, a springy Oregon Chardonnay and remarkably fresh and drinkable Priorat red will have you thinking of hearts and flowers. We’ll also be pouring a crisp, refreshing Sancerre and the head turning Borsao Garnacha. This is the perfect chance to try some classic flavors for the Hallmark day. Perrine Fresne 1er Cru Sermiers Sarmate II Extra Brut - This wine realty sizzles on entry with pinpoint bubbles and a bite of green apple acidity waking up your palate. An exciting wine from an exciting young producer. Dom des Coltabards Sancerre 2024 – Nothing fancy to say about the winery, but the wine is a classic – crisp, minerally and super-refreshing with or without food. Great value, too! Big Table Farm Chardonnay The Wild Bee 2023 - A classic from Oregon, the wine boasts ripe, rich, fruit and vibrant acidity and a wonderfully creamy mouthfeel. One taste and you'll be buzzing! Borsao Garnacha - Bodegas Borsao Garnacha Tinto 2024 - “Possibly the single greatest dry red wine value in the world.” -RP. The easy drinking Garnacha is back and better than ever. At a pretty breathtaking deal price while it lasts. Clos Galena - Priorat Formiga De Vellut 2022 - Full of sun-ripened red cherry and dark blueberry fruit, it's juicy in feel through the middle and then finishes with fine tannins and a bit of Priorat slate. And with the wines this Valentines Day weekend, try Red Casanova, a washed rind cow’s milk cheese from the town of Wiggensbach in Baden, Germany. Adding a bucket or two of cream to the milk gives an extra dose of richness and the aging process adds a pungently funky smell that turns mellow and delightful as you nibble away. Complex, compelling, a little confusing and ultimately wonderful – kind of like love, we think! |
