|
Sitting in the bar of La Cote d’Or Restaurant a few weeks ago with importer Wittauer and Chef Jacques Imperato, it was fun to watch Chef taste, react to, and describe the half-dozen Klaus was pouring. But – as one look at the menu below shows – it will be even more fun to taste the dishes Chef Jacques has dreamed up to complement each offering. Which you can do by joining us, Klaus and Jacques for dinner celebrating the season and Austrian wines on Tuesday, May 2 and Wednesday, May 3. You’ll enjoy a sparkling welcome Grüner Veltliner, a still GV with asparagus, crisp, dry, Riesling with seafood, two bold oak-aged Austrian reds and a very sweet treat to complete the meal. All for just $110 per person including everything – tax, tip, and even parking (free in the hotel lot next to the restaurant). Here’s the full menu and wine list: While Gathering Asparagus, Brussels sprout hash, white pepper sabayon, kale chips Salmon, bay scallops’ mousseline in brick dough, leek spinach, tropical beurre blanc Venison Medallion sautéed, blueberry, balsamic vinegar sauce Coconut crème caramel, mango, Britany butter cookie Are any of these dishes “Austrian?” Nope! But will they all complement and intensify the delicious flavors of a great set of Austrian wines? You bet! We’re doing something new for reservations at this dinner, with all sign-ups and payment handled in advance through Eventbrite. Just click the link and book your seats now. Then join us at 6:45 on Tuesday, May 2 and Wednesday, May 3, enjoy the food, wine and company, and leave when you’re done without waiting for a check. All reservations must be made and paid through Eventbrite. La Cote d’Or Restaurant is located at 6876 Langston Blvd, Arlington, VA 22213, just off Rt. 66 and within walking distance of the East Falls Church Metro station. Each night’s dinner is strictly limited to 30 people. But the amount of delicious French/Austrian fun and creativity? That’s definitely unlimited! |
