A pretty wild and delicious tasting this Friday. A prosecco that has the texture, complexity and length of Champagne. A summery white at a silly good price and an even more impressive Spanish white from 140 year-old vines. And a stylish Bordeaux with enough richness for cookout fair followed by the new vintage of the shop’s all-time best-selling Cotes du Rhone. You’re going to love this line-up! BiancaVigna Prosecco Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Brut 2023 – Prepare to have your Prosecco preconceptions shattered in this wildly savory and sophisticated wine that soars above what you’d expect from “Prosecco.” La Capranera Falanghina Campania 2023 – The perfect blend of salty minerality and juicy, ripe, fruit for summer sipping and matching up with salads, seafood and fresh mozzarella, all from $11.98. Garciarevalo Verdejo Rueda Finca Tresolmos 2023 – 140 year-old Verdejo vines give astonishing orange and tangerine fruit, a lifting squeeze of lemon and loads of chalky, salty, minerality. Brilliantly delicious. La Caze Bellevue St Emilion 2022 - An excellent take on old-fashioned Bordeaux from Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%) that matches appetizing austerity with generous fruit. Dom Grand Veneur Cotes du Rhone Champauvins 2022 – One of the best releases yet for this rich, deep and powerful red grown just 3 meters outside of Chateauneuf du Pape. With the wines, be sure to explore the final installment in Jose’s recent series of Gouda explorations as we sample out L'Amuse Rispens Sheep Gouda. With a cream/straw color, it's delightfully fragrant of buttermilk, hay and flowers and full of butter, caramel, brioche and pistachio flavors. A great snacking cheese that will show especially nicely with our two featured whites on Friday. Come taste the pairing for yourself! |
