A cool set of wines on tasting Saturday. From the highest vineyards in Provence comes a rosé of uncommon concentration and flesh. Dom du Salvard takes us to a hidden corner of the Loire – Cheverny – to showcase citrusy Sauvignon Blanc mellowed just a touch by a dollop of fresh Chardonnay. And as if a “baby Chateauneuf du Pape” was big enough for you, we’ll wrap up with Turley Zin! Join us from noon-4pm to sample: Henri Bonnaud Cotes De Provence Sainte Victoire Rose 2024 - Grenache gives this richness and creamy peach and ripe strawberry and watermelon at the core. A good dose of Clairette adds zip and brings the wine home through a long, dry, finish. La Capranera Falanghina Campania 2023 – The perfect blend of salty minerality and juicy, ripe, fruit for summer sipping and matching up with salads, seafood and fresh mozzarella, all from $11.98. Domaine du Salvard Cheverny Blanc 2024 – Wow, is this Loire Valley white of mostly Sauvignon Blanc and just a splash of Chardonnay delicious! Lovely fruit, a whiff of wild herb, and a texture that tempts you to gulp instead of sip. Dom Grand Veneur Cotes du Rhone Champauvins 2022 – One of the best releases yet for this rich, deep and powerful red grown just 3 meters outside of Chateauneuf du Pape. Turley Zinfandel Steacy Ranch 2022 – We don’t often get to pour wines from America’s most famous Zinfandel estate and we’ve never had this bottling to share. From 107 year-old vines in Lodi, it’s rich, fleshy and perfect for big flavors coming off the grill! You’ll enjoy Jose’s featured cheese of the week, L'Amuse Rispens Sheep Gouda, and great mix/match savings on all five wines. Come on in and get ready for summer sipping! |
