Lower ABV This is the most seriously delicious “Willamette Valley” Pinot Noirs we tasted from Oregon’s great 2021 harvest and you’re going to love it. The “serious” part starts with the vineyards, an all-stare list of great Eola Hills sites like Koosah, Sojeau, Witness Tree and Temperance Hill. Perfectly timing harvest to match ripe, generous, fruit flavors with real tension from fresh acids and fine tannins comes next. Then an easy, natural, ferment with 12 full months in mostly second-use French oak gives the wine polish and style.
The ”delicious” part is about aroma/flavors, mouthfeel and finish. The wine is bursting with crushed cherry and raspberry fruit, sweet spice, purple flowers, and just a tiny touch of captivating cured tobacco (Temperance Hill will have it’s say!). The mouthfeel is generous and full, but also very pure and transparent, with juicy fresh feel up front and then just enough fine tannin on the back for shape and style. And the finish sails on beautifully, with fresh fruit and that hint of Temprance Hill savoriness making your mouth water and lips turn up with a smile. Crazy good wine for the money.
