Lower ABV We didn't set out to buy a white from Ukraine, much less from a grape we'd never heard of, but one taste and we were sold! It's from the Shabo region in southern Ukraine and the unique Telti-Kuruk grape. We don't know where the grape came from, but it appeared here when the Ottomans ruled. Subtle peach and tangerine fruit shows on the nose and mid-palate before a big burst of chalky minerality and a lingering salty minerality. Fun to sip, great with seafood!
For You If: You enjoy other light, fresh, kind of salty seafood wines like Albarino and Muscadet; you're looking to try something new and unusual in origin but really classic in flavor and feel.
Not For You If: You're looking for something rich, overtly fruity, or full-bodied - at 11.5% alcohol, this is crisp and mouth-clensing!
