Orvieto is Umbria's top white and since the 1930s, at least, Mottura has been Orvieto's leading estate. This is their classic bottling, equal parts Grechetto and Procanico (the local clone of Trebbiano) done all in steel. There's a classic honey/almond oil accent to the orchard and stone fruit core and a lot of texture flowing through the long, lightly grippy and minty, finish. Great with oil braised or grilled seafood and anything with a touch of nuttiness.
For You If: You're looking for a complex white with lovely fruit and a lot more; you want a white that goes with light and easy food but isn't light/thin itself.
Not For You If: You're after something that's super mineral or lean - this has lots of texture and volume without any heaviness.
