Lower ABV“ Regular” Vinho Verde is just about the most refreshing white wine value in the world. And here the folks at Quinta do Raza have taken the same approach to pink wine – with results just as deliciously exciting! The wine is a blend of native grapes Padeiro, Espadal and Vinhão, picked just ripe and pressed slowly to give some color before a cool fermentation in steel and gentle bottling to retain some natural CO2. The light spritz gives lift to the fresh cherry and red berry fruit and wild flower flavors mid-palate and clean up the tart fruit and lime zest flavored finish nicely. A lot of fun and flavor at just 11.0% alcohol and a very nice price.
For You If: You're looking for a rose that's both light/fresh and has some gutsy flavors and a super mouthwatering finish.
Not For You If: You're after the classic Provencal-style rose flavors of stone fruit and watermelon - this is more darkly fruited than that and finishes with a bit more zest.
