Just stupid good Italian red, except it's kind of Austrian since this was once part of Austria, but it's Italy now and...oh, heck. Just stupid good red wine. As Vinouos says, it opens with a "burst of blackberry jam smeared across toast, complemented by sweet spice. It is a juicy effort with a solid core of ripe wild berry fruits offset by a twang of sour citrus. An herbal air lingers as the mouth waters for more." A gutsy mountain red smooth enough for sipping. Yum.
For You If: Certainly if you like Lagrein - this is the grape the winery hangs its hat on; you're looking for a bold, fruit-filled, red with some complexity and refreshing drinkability.
