Lower ABV This white from Savoie in the French Alps made from Jacquere (don't worry, no one else has heard of it either!) is the perfect springtime white. And a delightfully refreshing summer white. And a satisfying companion to fall fare. And – as the folks who ski the nearby Alps and gulp down most of the wine made in Abymes can tell you – it’s a terrific mid-winter after-fun reviver, too! There’s just no time that’s not perfect for Labbe Abymes.
You’ll find big aromas of fresh almond, white flowers, crisp apple and a dash of lime that really pull you in for swirl after swirl. The flavors are big, too, featuring crunchy, just ripe, Granny Smith, crisp Anjou pear, chamomile, and zesty lime that really zip along your palate before finishing with a squirt of tart apple and nice burst of chalky stone minerality. The texture is "light" – only 11.5% alcohol or so – but the flavors and satisfaction are very big indeed. If you enjoy vibrant, dry, white wines like Chablis, Albarino, Verdicchio or bone-dry Riesling, you’ll love how Labbe Abymes delivers just as much satisfaction at a fraction of the price!
For You If: You’re after an all-season, all-purpose, white with loads of texture, not too much fruit, and a refreshingly low level of alcohol; you’re having fondu or raclette – it’s amazing with both!
