A savory, firm, blend of Umbrian Sangiovese, Cabernet, Merlot and Sagrantino built for foods rich in umami and savory olive/herb flavors. As Vinous says, “Violet and lavender tones complement a burst of crushed black cherries as the 2022 Montefalco Rosso blossoms in the glass. This is round and supple with ripe blackberry fruit neatly contrasted by a twang of sour citrus. Fresh acidity enlivens the finishes, leaving the mouth watering for more as this tapers off with medium length and a licorice tinge.”
