A classic, old-fashioned, Rioja from the winery's best vines in Rioja Alavesa and a few prime plots in Rioja Alta. It's 100% Tempranillo aged 24 months in American and French oak barriques. With more than a decade in bottle, it's showing loads of complexity and remarkable freshness. As Suckling.com says in the 92 point review, "Intense aromas of figs, dried cherries, toasted coconut, caramel, mushrooms and sweet herbs. It’s medium-bodied with firm, sleek tannins and fresh acidity. Rich array of spice and dried fruit, with persistent freshness." An excellent match for rich meats and stews.
