A glorious rose Champagne from 100% Pinot Noir vines 60+ years-old all on Grand Cru sites in Ay harvested in 2020 and disgorged mid-2023. The dark salmon color and tiny bubbles make it beautiful in the glass. The aromas feature hints of wild strawberry, black cherry and something darkly floral. Precise, crisp and focused on the palate where a thin band of blood orange citrus joins the cherry/berry party and gets broader and more insistent on the finish. The Brut finish is dry and firm, with a tiny touch of tannin (from the red Pinot base wine used for color) giving food-friendly support without getting in the way of more casual sipping.  The combination of richness and freshness is compelling here as is the excellent price for 100% Grand Cru, old-vine, Pinot Noir.
